Texting goofs
Many examples would suffice; however for illustration purposes consider this scenario: Having to find out quite later on that you had sent an odd sms without initially noticing the curiously contained double meaning. Or even having to realize much later on that you had sent an embarrassing e-mail to the wrong recipient, or unknowingly, you find yourself referring to your current partner by the name of your ex….or having to realize when its too late the embarrassing post on your face book wall.
Depending on the motive behind and by extension the scenario; texting habitually seem to carry with it a queer sense of emergency, particularly in the case of sms(s).The strong compulsion coming from it, drives one to receive and reply them immediately on impulse can, as a result be nagging as well as overwhelming. This usually goes on without much thought on the part of individuals; against the exigency of having to first decipher, ponder, and appropriately reflect on the texts.
Furthermore, the shrewd mirage occasioned by the strong urge in the same breath implanted by the apparent feeling of lowered inhibitions usually associated with having a face to face confrontation: defiantly nudge one into taking full advantage of that precious window of opportunity-of being free and able to text or write about those particular things or issues we wouldn’t in an ordinary situation even master the courage to say or do face to face.
The consequent results unfortunately is a raft of ‘commitment destroying’ tendencies that leave one readily yielding to flippancy; become more sexually explicit; a driven urge to lie more easily; or become insidiously honest.
While all this is taking place our sub-conscious joins the fray without leaving a room to sober up. This is because it incessantly and surreptitiously slip in, and surely expose the exact things we discreetly strive to hide under the carpet through employing the urgency of morality against the guilty feelings secretly harbored in the text massages, that sooner rather than later toss us from the frying pan straight into seething flames of fire. As if not enough-adding salt to injury; it cunningly make us to recklessly leave our mobile phones lying idly round the house ,or those inappropriate and dreadful places for which we could effortlessly get busted and shamefully brought to account. Unfortunately this is exactly how the golfing sensation and icon Tiger woods got caught.
While cheating in a relationship is a universally reprehensible habit rightfully condemned for the most part; it is imperative for anyone in a meaningful relationship to strive to always avoid unnecessary pit-falls that could be brought about by careless texting and posted writings. One should constantly be in control of his feelings, and of course it may greatly help, for instance to type you text quickly, but then putting it away for moment of reflection. Press the send button after a re-read and being quite sure that your message by context is not harmful to the recipient-at any cost!
